The Ghost at the B&B by Kendricks/France

THE GHOST AT THE B&B
KC Kendricks & Christiane France
Paranormal gay romance

We got the story started with The Ghost Wore Denim and The Ghost Makes Three. We were unable to release the final book due to the closing of Amber Quill Press. Now, finally, the story is complete. The Ghost at the B&B is all three books in one special volume. (At a single book price because we know so many of you already have the first two stories.) And yes, Robin is a friendly ghost. Very friendly.

COVER BLURB

Michael Brooks’ life took an unexpected direction when he found the Taylor Mansion, a two-story Colonial perfect for a Bed & Breakfast. An untenured college professor, he’s suddenly also a successful entrepreneur. And best of all, he met sexy deputy Colin Jefferson and they hit it off in a big way. He’s even made friends with the mansion’s resident ghost.

Deputy Colin Jefferson is a hometown boy who made good. As a member of the local police force, he serves the community he loves. He’s heard tales about the Taylor Mansion ghost all his life. Now he’s living there with Michael and knows the stories are true. There’s a ghost with a penchant for voyeurism lurking in his bedroom.

How the ghost came to live in at the B&B is a mystery Michael and Colin need to solve. It’s the only way for their resident spirit to get justice and to find eternal rest. Until they can unearth the murderer, the friendly ghost at the bed and breakfast is a permanent guest.

EXCERPT

I’d barely had time to assemble the makings of the promised light tea when Robin appeared in the kitchen doorway.
“Thanks a bunch.”
“For?” I knew exactly what for but I decided to play dumb.
“You use me as the star attraction to get paying guests, and then pretend I don’t exist. I’m deeply hurt. How could you?”
“Because the possibility there might be a ghost is far more intriguing than knowing we do for sure. Satisfied?”
“I guess.” He came into the room and wandered around, looking at this and that before sitting on the corner of the table. “Just think what fun it would be if they woke up in the night and found me tucked snugly between them. Can’t you just hear their screams now?”
I whipped around and fixed him with a stern glare. “Don’t you dare do that. Don’t even think about it.”
“Okay, but it’ll cost you.”
I couldn’t imagine what he had in mind but I just knew I wouldn’t like it. “Cost me how?”
“I want to watch.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “Watch what?”
“You and whatshizname getting buck naked and doing the nasty.”
Oh shit! He was serious.
“You know his name is Colin, and are you kidding? Absolutely not. That would be an infringement of our privacy.”
He looked at me with a dismayed expression on his all-too-human face.
“You think that pimping me as the friendly ghost here doesn’t amount to the same thing? You didn’t even bother to ask if I’d mind being exposed to public view. I’m at least entitled to something in the way of compensation.”
I thought he would be if he was alive, but he wasn’t and that put me at a disadvantage in being able to understand him. I conceded the point.
“Fine, but there must be something else that you’d like.”
“I’d like to change history and come back to life. I’d like to punish the bastards who took my life from me. Since neither of those things will ever happen, and I still have needs the same as any other man, I—”
My mouth fell open. He’d never alluded to that before.
“You do? Really? I had no idea. I thought…” Actually, I wasn’t sure what I thought.
“I admit I have my limitations. That’s a given. Even so, I lost my life not my feelings.”
As much as I felt for him in such a predicament, I knew my partner.
“Colin will never agree to you indulging your voyeuristic tendencies by watching his bare ass. And don’t go all peeping Tom on the paying guests, either.”
Robin gave an offhand shrug and then grinned. “That’s easily fixed. Don’t tell him.”

 A Siren Erotic Romance

---

STORY EXCERPT

He thought about how far his life had come in such a short time. In less than ten years, he’d gone from an ex-Special Forces soldier searching for his place in the world, to an MIT graduate, to owning the second largest independently owned and operated software integration firm in Michigan. But all of that was nothing compared to the real change that happened when his sister had recommended that he join a dating service to cure his less-than-stellar love life. And Love Play had done that and much more. In their own mysterious way, they’d managed to look into his heart and find the man and woman of his dreams. Literally. The images of Jilly and Nate had haunted his dreams after he returned from Afghanistan. During that time, he didn’t know it was them, but after he met them and they spent the night together, he knew they were the ones.

How his Eros, his matchmaker at Love Play, had known baffled him. Nevertheless, he was profoundly grateful that the man or woman, or whoever his Eros was, had put the three of them together. Now, they were married, and he was happier than he’d ever been in his life. Add to it that their love had become so deep that it had blossomed into a beautiful dominant-submissive relationship with them.

The car’s internal phone rang. It was Jilly. He pressed the icon on the car’s dashboard screen and answered.

“Hi, honey, what’s up?” he asked. He was always glad to hear Jilly’s voice.

He grasped his chest, hoping the ache would fade as he longed to see her.

“I was going over the arrangements for the party,” she said. Her sweet voice was a dulcet tone that calmed him.

“I’m thinking about how people should dress,” she said, “and the basic rules for the party.”

Jilly had the great idea to plan a Christmas party for them and their BDSM friends to be held at Love Play’s mansion. When she’d mentioned it in August, he hadn’t been wild about the idea. But after a lot of cajoling from her and Nate, they’d convinced him, and he’d given her the permission to go for it, which meant they were going to attend, too.

“High protocol is not something we do, but there’s no reason that should stop other Doms from having that with their submissives. As for clothing, you know my rules for you, too. You aren’t allowed to wear anything too revealing. The only person allowed to see your ass is me and Nate, and that’s when he’s not in trouble.”

It wasn’t as if he made them walk around with bolts of fabric hanging off their bodies, but their sexuality belonged to him.

“Dueño, that was a long time ago,” Nate said, pouting.

“It won’t happen again.”

Right after Chris had collared them, Nate bought Jilly a pair of tight jeans, high heels, and a shirt that was so form fitting it showed everything the Lord had blessed her with in the chest and told her to wear his prized choker collar. Chris had damn near had a heart attack when they came home from a late lunch in Cutlerville.

Nate grinned and asked, “Doesn’t she look hot?” Once he’d regained the ability to speak, Chris’s only reply was, “Not as hot as your ass is gonna be once I hit it with my flogger.” He ordered them both to the bedroom, flogged Nate’s ass, paddled Jilly, then fucked them without allowing either of them to orgasm. To teach Nate a lesson for encouraging Jilly to dress immodestly, he hadn’t been allow to see her bare ass for two days or have sex with her.

Nate also had to cover his eyes with his hands when Jilly wore no clothes for two days. Whereupon, Nate vowed to never encourage her to wear inappropriate clothing again.

“Dueño, I know what your rules are for us. What about the party? Kink for everyone?”

He had no appetite for that yet. He cared for his friends, especially his army buddies, the Propietarios who were into BDSM, but he wasn’t ready to see them go all out.

“This is casual, vanilla only. Leather is permitted but please do not go all out,” Chris said.

“All right, got it.”

“How are you feeling?” he asked, worried. “Still feeling worn down?”

She was at home trying to get over the remnants of a cold that lingered, giving her all sorts of problems like a fever and upset stomach. She’d feel good one moment, and then, wham, she’d have to rest because she’d be too tired to move. Despite his protests, she refused to go to the doctor again.

“Somewhat.”

He sighed. “Don’t wear yourself out today. Get some rest. That’s an order. If you aren’t better by tomorrow, we’re going downtown.”

The DMC, Detroit Medical Center, was the major medical complex in the area. It was over an hour away, and he would gladly drive her to find out what was wrong. He was not willing to risk her well-being for her selfish pride or a dumb party. He hated when she was not feeling well or was in pain. He wanted to be able to shield her from the worst the world could give so she’d be able to live a life of love and happiness. She deserved that much and more. To say he loved her would be an understatement. Heck, it wouldn’t even describe the depths of his intense feelings for them. They owned him as much as he owned them. It didn’t feel right if they weren’t healthy and safe.

“I will take it easy.”

“Okay. I love you,” Chris said.

“Love you, too,” she replied. “Love you, too, Nate.”

“I’ll call you later on to see how you are doing,” Nate said.

Chris ended the call.

“Do you think she’ll obey?” Nate asked.

ADULT EXCERPT

“Tell me what you want, sweet stuff,” Chris said to Nate.

“Dueño, I want you to fuck me hard,” Nate said. “And I want to fuck Jilly-Bean and fill her tight pussy with my cum.”

“Very good, sweet stuff. That pleases me. Present yourself to me,” Chris said.

Nate opened his legs further, exposing his cock and balls to Chris. His cock jutted upward and twitched.

“Do you like being my submissive?” Chris asked.

Nate’s mouth fell open. His eyes became partially lidded. He groaned with a hint of agony in his tone. “Yes, Dueño. Serving you makes me hard.”

“You keep me hard. Do you know that? You like keeping your owner hard?”

He nodded, and his eyes rolled backward. Chris knew his man was already starting to soar into subspace.

“Jilly-Bean, stand up,” Chris said.

She stood.

“Come to Dueño and suck my dick until I tell you to stop.”

She latched onto him. He fisted her hair and pulled her head away from his cock, craning her head back, exposing her creamy flesh. He hissed as he relished the satiny feel of her mouth as it enveloped his penis. There was something about the way she sucked his dick that made him want to lose control.

“Up, Jilly-Bean.” He let go of her hair and helped her to her feet. “Go to the bed and lay on your stomach, legs apart and ass up. Nate, do not touch yourself.”

Nate whimpered.

Though his dick was wet from her saliva, Chris grabbed the lube off the nightstand. He flipped the cap and placed some on his fingers and spread it liberally around her anus and inside of it.

“Your ass is so perfect. I can’t believe I’ve had the honor and pleasure of fucking it.”

He parted the globes of her ass and placed the rounded tip of his cock at her tight hole. He growled as he slid inside of her. She clenched the muscles in her pussy and grunted.

She puffed. “Yes, Dueño, more.” She was a pain slut in her own way.

He pushed in harder and then pulled back. “Please, again.”

He grasped her hips and slammed into her. His hips took on a mind of their own and they seemed to have one goal in mind, mate his woman like this was his one and only opportunity. She whimpered, unable to control the small thrusting movements of her hips as he filled her. His balls slapped against her with the force of his movement. She wiggled her hips and cried out. She was close. He slammed harder into her ass and bent forward, massaging her clit as she begged for permission to come. Every nerve galvanized his body for one reason, to shoot his cum deep inside of her. He grimaced as the maddening pain radiated up from his dick to his eyes, nearly blinding him. He was ready.

“Oh God, come, baby,” he said.

Her back arched then her hips bucked. Her ass clenched, squeezing his dick. He lost control and growled and came hard. He closed his eyes tight and his mind went blank as euphoria swept through him. He grunted then trembled as the last bit of cum spurted out of him.

He collapsed on the bed beside her and pulled her into his arms. The fog that had clouded his mind slowly lifted, letting him come back to his senses. He nuzzled the crook of her neck, adoring her sweet fragrance that mingled with his. This type of intimacy had been alien to him before he met them. Sex had been pleasurable but not satisfying, and it made him wonder if there was anything more to it than a quick romp in the sack. It was never an issue with them.

Nate. His love was patiently awaiting his turn. Chris ran his hands up and down her body and kissed her neck.

“Go the center of the bed and lie on your back then spread your legs,” he said whispering in her ear.

* * * *

Jilly did as she was told. She loved obeying Dueño. His mastery over her body and her heart made her feel loved and protected. Not to mention he was so hot that she felt like the luckiest woman in the world to have a man like him in love with her. A little over six feet two, Chris’s short-cut light brown hair, lean angular torso with toned limbs and blue eyes made him look like the boy next door had grown up to be a heart-stopping gorgeous man.

Most people only had one partner who made them swoon. She had two. Nate was her Aussie blond thunder whose voice was a deep baritone and body she likened to a Greek god. For the longest time, he wore his hair long and pulled back into a pony tail, giving him a carefree look that added to his sex appeal whether he knew it or not. Now, he wore it short and trimmed like Chris.

She laid down and opened her legs. She felt the bed dip as Nate crawled onto it. He loomed over her, and his eyes simmered with lust. While Chris was her Master, Nate was her sweet Sir.

Chain Lightning by KC Kendricks

April 22, 2017

There is something a little peculiar about Eli Tate. Oh, he appears normal enough on the surface, but he’s spent years trying to remember what happened to him - and why he doesn’t age. Then there’s the way he can shift shape. He doesn’t know what kind of being he really is or if there are any others like him. What he does know he’s been in the same town for thirty years and he needs to move on.

Returning to the Big Apple, Eli takes up residence in his old apartment. An evening walk turns deadly when he’s attacked by pure evil. He barely escapes with his life - thanks to a stranger named Rio who is a shape shifter like him.

Rio says he knows Eli and that he’s been searching for him for many years. Rio confesses they were once lovers. Eli has no memory of such a time, and now he’s out of options. To remember his past, and destroy the creature pursuing them, Eli has no choice but to trust Rio - and maybe fall in love with him again.

INTRO

It was a good thing Eli wasn’t vain. He had the height people noticed. His dark hair showed no sign of graying, and his whiskey-brown eyes reflected his intelligence. He’d looked like this as far back as his memory stretched. It could be a lot worse.
Being clean would be a lot better. He stepped into the master bath and opened the taps to fill the tub. A good hot soak was in order, and after that, some food.
The agency had stocked the fridge and pantry when they opened and readied the apartment. Going back out tonight posed too great a risk and Eli wasn’t fool enough to take it.
He sank down in the tub to submerge his aching shoulders. Flying was strenuous work. With Vihal hunting him he needed to condition his muscles. Sooner or later Vihal would come back to New York.
The hot water surrounded his body with soothing heat. A wave of exhaustion rolled through him. He closed his eyes.
Eli jerked awake. The water was cold and he wasn’t alone. He rolled to his feet in a shower of droplets, intent on getting to the Sig Saur he’d placed in the nightstand drawer. He skidded to a stop in the doorway, heart pounding at the sight of the man in his bedroom.
Rio calmly sat in the wing chair beside the window. He smiled. “Eli. Coming here was a bit predictable, wasn’t it?”
He had to keep his wits about him. Rio had helped him, but for what reason? “Apparently. Do you mind if I get dressed while we chat?”
Rio’s interested gaze swept him from head to toe and settled on his groin, where it stopped. “Maybe I do.”

EXCERPT

This was getting him nowhere. He wanted to get dressed and make a run for his Wyoming hideout - without Rio being able to follow him. Playing the game might be the only way to accomplish that.
“Okay, Rio. You’re sex on two feet. Is that what you wanted to hear?”
The man rubbed his forehead. “You don’t have a clue. This is a problem for me. I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t want you to go into some sort of shock and vanish again. It’s taken me too long to find you.”
“Why were you even looking for me? C’mon. Help me out here. Level with me.”
“You’re a valuable prize, Elimian. Vihal would see you dead. I would see you live.”
Another fucking riddle, but this one contained a clue.
“You’re talking about two factions? Why would the other side want to kill me? Money? Glory? The thrill of the kill?”
“Maybe all of the above. Get dressed. We should leave.”
Eli raised an eyebrow. “We? There is no ‘we’. You’re going to get out of my apartment and I’m going to ponder my next move.”
He shook his head. “No. Your safe houses have surely been discovered.”
He’d sensed a presence just before he left Elizabethtowne. Had that been Rio and not Vihal? No. It had been Vihal. He was sure of it now. That worried Eli more than he dared to let show. It might have been pure luck on Vihal’s part he got that close to him in Elizabethtowne.
“I disagree. This Vihal found me because I returned to the city. He’s had years to locate me, and he couldn’t.”
“True. But since he did find you, he’ll be able to continue to track you. We need a plan. I can get you to a safe place and we can figure out what to do next.”
“I don’t trust you.”
Rio nodded. “Fair enough. But I’m begging you to come with me. Give me twenty-four hours to change your mind about me.”
“And if at the end of the day I say adios, you’ll be good with that?” The look of anguish that flashed across Rio’s face made him blink. Had he really seen it?
Rio’s voice gave nothing away. “If that’s your decision, I will abide by it.”
“Very well. Now go in the kitchen and make it look like I was cooking. I’ll get dressed.”
“Don’t bother with good clothes. We need to take on wolf skin and run.”
“Right. We’ll step out onto the street, shift, and just trot down Broadway.”
“I’ve always loved your sarcastic wit.”
He froze, his gaze locked on Rio’s. His heart pounded in his chest as the black void in his memory rippled and his skin washed cold. “What the hell did you say? How do… Do you…Did you and I know each other in the past?”
He watched Rio’s chest rise and fall. The muscles in the man’s throat moved convulsively. His voice was so low as to be tortured whispered.
“You really don’t remember me?” He took a quick step forward. “Elimian? Eli? Please remember me.” He laid his palm on Eli’s chest.
Eli shook his head, confused. What had he missed? What had he been forced to forget to survive? The memory of the taste of the man’s blood filled his senses. “I’m sorry. I don’t remember you. How do I know you?”
Rio cupped the back of his neck and pulled him closer. “We knew each other like this.”
Eli realized his intent a moment before their lips touched. He wanted to pull away but couldn’t. Rio held the key to his past...

Bourbon & Blues by KC Kendricks

Bourbon and Blues
The Men of Marionville series

Griffith Ernde missed his father’s funeral because he was drunk. When he made it to the cemetery, the gates closed with him on the inside. Griff ends up in a cell at the local precinct house charged with trespassing, and with no way to salvage the day. No doubt about, it’s a personal low in his life. Then his luck changed when Kory Watts joined him in the cell.

Kory Watts has a knack for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Stood up on a blind date at a local club, Kory gets swept up in a drug raid and lands in a cell with an inebriated stranger. When his drug test comes back clean, the duty sergeant offers Kory a deal: if he takes Griff home, they both can go with no charges. It’s not a deal Kory will refuse.

When Kory and Griff meet again, they agree to have a drink - of ice water. Neither man judges the other and it’s quickly apparent they share an attraction. As their budding relationship heats up, Kory wonders if he’s ready to get serious with a guy he just met no matter how well suited to each other they are. When Griff is suddenly charged with the murder of his father, Kory is ready to move heaven and earth to help prove him innocent, but it might not be enough to save what’s between them.

INTRO

Friday morning finally arrived. I sent a text to Griff, just to check in, and he sent back everything was set. At five minutes to twelve, I got a one-word text from him. Nooner?

I didn’t even think about it before I sent my reply.  Hell, yeah.

I hit the off switch on my laptop and yelled for Leon. He appeared in the doorway.

“What’s up, other than your voice?”

I rolled my eyes at him. “I hate to ask you again, but can you close up this afternoon?”

“Sure. Smoke loves to sneak in here and sleep in your chair.”

“Of course he does. Thanks, man. I owe you.”

He grinned. “I’ll cash in my marker the day before the Smithfield Agility Trials.”

“Done! See ya Monday.” I didn’t wait for him to reply. I was out the door and into my car, headed to Griff’s place. Ten minutes later I parked my car beside his.

I was already hard and aching for him. He opened the door before I could knock. I stepped inside and he grabbed me around the waist and backed me against the refrigerator. I cupped the back of his head and pulled him in for a rough kiss. Things got a bit fuzzy as we kissed, nibbled, and yanked at clothing. He tucked his fingers under my belt and pulled me to his bedroom. We landed on the bed.

I rolled him beneath me. “Hey, Griff. Hello. Good to see you. Thanks for asking me over.”

He wrapped his legs around my hips and squeezed. “Screw the pleasantries and fuck me.”

EXCERPT

And what was up with that little smile on his face? I tossed a throw pillow at him.

He threw it back. “Why don’t you come over here and sit beside me?”

“I’m good right here, thanks.”

He sighed. “I’m lonely.”

“Well, we can’t have that, can we? I mean, what if you start to whine?” I moved a few inches closer to him.

He patted his lap. “You could sit here.”

Actually, I rather liked that idea. I could play easy to get. “You could back the train up.”

“Kory, you’re killing me here.”

“Okay. We can’t have that.” I slid over to sit beside him, keeping a few inches between us. I knew where this was headed.

Griff stretched out his arm along the back of the couch, not touching me. “Better, don’t you think?”

I bumped against him. “Much.”

He moved to put his arm around me. We stared at each other. I wondered if my gaze held the same speculation I saw in his. Did he see that I wouldn’t tell him no? Was he equally nervous about making the move? One of us had to do it. I leaned in and kissed him.

His lips opened and moved over mine. Every nerve in my body lit up like a light. I couldn’t breathe as arousal shrieked through me. My balls tingled. My cock swelled full and hard in just a few pounding heartbeats.

Griff jerked away to stare at me with eyes gone wide and black. He licked his lips, twice. “This might be a colossal mistake, but I have a television in the bedroom. You’re panting.”

“So what? You’re drooling.”

He swiped his fingertips across his mouth and then scowled at me.

I grinned and held my hand out to him. “Lead the way.”

He switched off the TV and took my hand. I grabbed my glass of cola knowing I’d need a drink later. He nodded and picked up his before leading me back a short hallway to his darkened bedroom. Very little light came in around the blackout blind and the heavy drape.

Griff ran his hand along my arm. He must have noticed what I was looking at. “There’s a streetlight right outside that ruins my sleep, but we can let in some sunlight if you want.”

“I want to see you.”

He nodded and pushed the drape to the side. “Enough?”

“Yep.” I reached out and pulled his shirt free of his jeans.

“Wait,” he murmured as he tucked the silver cross beneath his turtleneck. A moment later I had the garment over his head and tossed on the dresser.

He yanked my shirt up and off me. We fumbled at each other’s zipper. I finally backed away to kick off my shoes and take my pants off without causing bodily injury. Naked, I stood straight and let him look at me while I gazed at his beauty.

Griff was a bit taller than me and, as my mother would say, bigger boned. He wasn’t muscled like a serious body builder, but he did have good definition. His shoulders were broad enough to encourage a long taper to slim hips that flowed into lean, sexy thighs. A dusting of hair grew on his chest and darkened into a bold line that led my gaze down to his beautiful, swollen cock.
I forced myself to look up into his eyes. He was looking down, at me. His gaze flicked up to meet mine for an instant, and then he dropped to his knees.

The heat of his mouth enveloped me, warm and wet. Welcoming. I buried my fingers in his dark hair and watched my shaft appear and disappear as his lips trailed moisture over me. I closed my eyes but the vision of it stayed with me, threatening to speed me to the finish line.

“Griff. Enough.”

He gave me a last, teasing lick and stood. I reached for him but he stopped me. He motioned at the bed. I helped him shove the covers down before dropping to my knees on the mattress. He came to me, wrapping his arms around me and tumbling us over to the soft sheet.

Undeniable by KC Kendricks

Undeniable

Contemporary gay romance

With a summer storm threatening to ruin his Friday afternoon, Asa Burton packs his briefcase and bolts for home before the driving gets dangerous. On the interstate, stuck behind an accident, he regrets his decision until he sees Ford Weston standing along the side of the road talking to a police officer.

Ford Weston can’t believe his luck, bad and good. First, his car gets clipped on the tail end of an accident, and then none other than Asa Burton pulls over and offers him a ride home. Coming face-to-face with the biggest regret of his life leaves Ford off-balance. He screwed up with Asa all those years ago. It was his fault the relationship ended.

Asa can’t believe he’s found Ford again, so why is he angry with himself? Could it be because Ford walked out on him without a word seventeen years ago and he did nothing to stop him? Asa’s sure of only one thing – Fate just handed him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win back Ford.

INTRO:
It felt like he was on hold forever even though it was only a few seconds. Lord, he was going to screw this up somehow. He almost dropped his phone when Asa answered.
“Hello, Ford.”
“Asa. I, um, hope you don’t mind me calling.” Boy, that was slick.
“No, no. Not at all. What can I do for you?”
Ford took a breath in the hope of steadying himself. He hated to sound stupid and he was certain he did.
“Would you have time to see me today? You know, as a lawyer.”
There was a slight pause before Asa replied. “May I ask what this is about?”
Crap. Did that mean Asa would only see him for business? It was time he admitted to himself he wanted a lot more than that.
“I landed a big job today. Actually, it’s the most important job I’ve ever gotten. I need a good lawyer to look over the contract. I thought – I hoped you’d agree to look it over.”
“Is that all you want, Ford?”
Was that a note of hope in Asa’s quiet voice or did he want to believe it so badly he imagined it?
Ford closed his eyes and saw a younger Asa sprawled naked on his bed, the golden candlelight flickering across the white globes of his virgin buttocks. Asa had trusted him and for at least that one night, he hadn’t let Asa down.
“No, Asa. I need to see you.”

EXCERPT:

Asa rested his hand on Ford’s knee. “Satisfy my curiosity. Who’s going to make the first move?”
He grinned as Ford put his arm around his shoulders.
“That’s how you moved in on me the first time. I was sitting on the sofa talking to friends and you plopped down beside me. Then you put your arm around me and asked me if I wanted to get naked.”
“I was smooth in those days, wasn’t I?”
Asa laughed. “You were one horny bastard and you were on the prowl.”
He sobered as Ford stroked his cheek with trembling fingers then ran his thumb over his lips. “Asa, I’d have never jumped you like that if I’d known you were so inexperienced.”
He was surprised to hear the regret in Ford’s voice.
“I was shaking like a leaf in my frat-boy sneakers when I walked out the door with you. You were the answer to my big problem, you know. I was desperate to lose my virginity but just any guy wouldn’t do. I wanted a real stud for the job.”
“I’m glad you chose me.”
Asa set his beer down. It was the second one today he wasn’t going to finish. He turned and put his arms around Ford’s neck. There was one thing he knew would move them past uncertainty. He pressed his lips to Ford’s.
Ford was still for a moment then his lips parted. Past and present merged for Asa as the memory of those long ago shared kisses blended with the feel of Ford’s warm mouth moving under his. Now was all that mattered. His groin tightened as he shifted forward and Ford went down beneath him.
Never breaking the kiss Asa worked his hands under Ford’s shirt to caress bare skin. His dick swelled full and hard when Ford slipped his hand down the back of his pants to squeeze his ass. Inside him, little muscles twitched with the memory of the first time Ford fucked him, of the burn as Ford went into him. He’d spun into a white-hot heat he’d never found with anyone else. Asa kissed the throbbing vein in Ford’s neck.
“We have too many clothes on.”
Ford stroked the back of his head. “You cut your gorgeous hair.”
“It was time.” Asa raised up enough to look at him. Ford’s pupils had gone wide and black and Asa wondered if his eyes looked the same. He ran his fingers through Ford’s dark locks.
“I wanted the senior partners to take me seriously. That wasn’t going to happen looking like a wannabe singer in a boy band.”
“I get it, but it really surprises me you’d do it. Are you ready to take this to the bedroom?”
“Oh, yeah. I’ve changed some, Ford.”
“So have I. Let me up.”
“One more for the road.”
“The bedroom - ”
Asa cut Ford off as he kissed him. Ford met him, thrusting his tongue in Asa’s mouth in a mock fucking. In response, Asa flexed his hips against Ford’s. He silently damned the layers of fabric between them as the ridge of his erection rode Ford’s equally hard cock. Asa shifted sideways to drop onto his knees and rock back on his heels.
“Which way?”
“Upstairs.”

The Right Brew by KC Kendricks

THE RIGHT BREW

Hollis Milnor didn’t think twice about moving to Marionville. His ailing cousin needed his help running his nightclub, Frolic, and Hollis needed to put some space between himself and an ex-boyfriend determined to make his life miserable. Management skills he has. Experience running a nightclub, not so much, but he’s a quick learner.

Caleb Brewer is a steady, hard-working man establishing a microbrewery. He’s got a great product and demand for it is growing. When a new manager takes over the hottest nightclub in Marionville, Caleb is determined to maintain his prior arrangements.

What starts out as business quickly heats up the summer nights. Hollis hesitates, reluctant to step over the legal line. Caleb isn’t just a vendor. He works part-time at the nightclub. Becoming involved puts them both in murky waters, waters that become crystal clear when the past catches up with Hollis and puts everyone he loves in danger.

EXCERPT

“Caleb. Come in and sit down.” I motioned at a chair. “Something wrong?”

He eased down in the wing chair and stretched out his long denim-encased legs. “Did we sorta get off on the wrong foot here? I can’t afford to have that happen.”

I gave him points for directness. He didn’t aim to come off as being abrupt. He simply kept everything right out front. I liked that.

“I know. It’s my fault, Caleb, and I’m sorry. I’m here to manage the nightclub, not get personally involved with any of the men working within the business end of things.”

He studied me for a moment, and then nodded. “Fair enough. I thought that might be it, but I wanted to be sure that’s all it was. Now I need to ask you this.” He took a deep breath. “Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? I’d like to talk about some business.”

He would, would he? I admit getting involved with the hired help wasn’t a good idea and he comes back with an invitation to dinner?

We could talk ideas and possibilities for our respective ventures right now. We didn’t need food, wine and the privacy of a crowded restaurant, but what better way to learn more about him? A wave of goosebumps fluttered over my back.

“I guess I do need to eat sometime.”

His blue gaze locked on mine. “I think I like that you had to consider it. Too much impulse can lead a man astray.”

Oh, hell, yeah. “Is that where you’d like to go? Astray?”

A smile teased the corner of his mouth. His eyes sparkled with humor. “I’ve been there before so I know which road not to take.”

“Same here. Tell me something. How long have you been connected with Frolic?”

“Not long. Maybe a year. Why?”

I grinned at him. “You might have information useful to me.”

He rolled his eyes and lifted his gaze to the ceiling. “And that, Caleb Brewer, is why the man agreed to have dinner with you.”

I chuckled. “Talk to yourself often, do you? I like to keep things above board, too. So, yeah, I’m going to ask you a bunch of questions, but I think I’ll really enjoy having dinner with you.”

“I get it, and it’s okay. So how about I meet you about seven o’clock? At The Wharf? It’s the best place in town.”

“I’ve heard about the place. Give me your phone number in case something happens and I can’t get away on time. I can at least let you know I’m running late and why.”

We exchanged cell numbers and he held his hand out as he stood to leave. I reached out and his fingers closed around mine. The shock of his warm palm against mine turned my arm to lead. He let go of me.

“It’s not a date, Hollis. Not if you don’t want it to be.”

He walked out of the office while I stood watching his retreating backside. It wasn’t until he’d disappeared I realized I rather wished it were.

Some neighbors share more than others...

Andy Madison is city born and bred. Filling in for a friend at a coffee shop, Andy meets Ben Hardin and sparks fly. They spend a long, lazy Sunday afternoon together to get to know each other, and when they decide to let nature take its course, they go to Ben’s cozy apartment.

Ben’s taking his time becoming acclimated to his new life in the big city. He’s got a great job he loves, he’s making new friends, and his starter apartment has the most incredible views a young man could dream of. Ben’s discovered there’s more to admire than the arts, music and architecture. All he has to do is look out his window and across the narrow alley.

Andy thinks he’s seen it all living in the Big Apple, but what he spies through Ben’s window is something that can only be enjoyed by the eye of the beholder...

INTRO:

I'd chosen to sleep on the side of the bed beside the one and only window in the apartment. I might have made a different decision if the window faced east, but it didn't. I peered out through the streaky glass at the glow of the city lights and wondered if I'd someday make enough money to have a real view. The surprising, and scary, answer to that musing was I actually might. My employer recognized my talent.

I was just about to tuck my toes under the sheet when for no real reason a movement on the other side of the narrow alley drew my attention. I yawned as the lights in the apartment across the way and down a story went out. The lower half of the window rose about six to eight inches and a pair of male hands set a block to keep it from falling closed. The hands, now unseen, pushed the sheer curtains apart to allow what little breeze stirred this night entrance to his room. Naked, he flopped down on his bed, his back arched as he stretched his arms over his head.

Why I didn't crawl between the sheets and go to sleep will forever remain a mystery. I never aspired to be a peeping Tommy. I might watch a little gay porn now and again, but what poor deprived country boy hadn't resorted to the joys of the Internet to get by until they could find a real man? That didn't make me a pervert. Unlike a few of the tricks I'd had since arriving in lower Manhattan, I didn't even like to have sex in public places. But in the blink of an eye I became a voyeur.

I suppose I was surprised to be able to see him so clearly, but I didn’t give it much thought. Hell, who could think? Not me. I could only watch and ache as my cock swelled.
He was beautiful. His face was shrouded in shadow, but the city lights revealed his lean, toned body in all its well-formed splendor, cast in liquid silver. He stretched a second time, and I longed to trail my fingertips over the long lines of his torso. I cupped my balls and settled them in a more comfortable position, then stroked my shaft. Arousal teased my nerve endings before it shrieked through me as the man on the bed ran his hands over his thighs.

The inside of my thighs prickled. I soothed the skin, rubbing gently. The hair on my legs was rough under my palms. Were his thighs dusted with hair, or did he have a darker pelt like mine? I followed his path as he caressed the softer skin where leg blended to hip, sliding my fingertips down the valley and in alongside my sac. My dick throbbed, but until he stroked the dark rod that rested on his pale abdomen, I couldn’t give in to the temptation to reach for relief.

I groaned as the man flipped over onto his belly and wiggled his hips, the perfect muscular mounds of his buttocks alabaster in the starlight. He spread his legs, knees well apart. How could he do that to me?

Was that a movement in the shadows behind him? Heart pounding, I froze, fearing my presence would be detected by this second man, who eased between the man’s open thighs, his sizable boner pointing straight out at my phantom lover’s ass.

EXCERPT:

...Andy was sorta cute. I could invite him to a movie this afternoon and see what he said. It was one sure way to find out which team he batted for. “When do you get off, Andy?”

A smile played at his lips as he cocked his head to the left and raised his eyebrow. “Usually about midnight every night, one way or the other.”

I bet I looked stupid with my mouth hanging open. A wide grin split his face, then he laughed, a low, happy sound that said he was pleased to have rendered me speechless. Andy sobered, at least a little.

“Are you attempting to ask me out?”

I gripped my coffee cup for dear life as I gathered my wits. “I’m not sure now. I think you might need to go home and get some sleep.”

He leaned forward and brushed his knuckles across mine. “I don’t like to sleep alone, Ben.”

The smooth, silky way he said my name made me shiver, but I’m sure he intended that I would. Heart thudding unevenly in my chest, I met his gaze.

“Me neither, Andy, and I happen to be free around midnight.” I didn’t add that if we went to my place I’d make damn sure my curtains were safety-pinned closed.

He leaned forward again. “Tell you what. Give me your cell phone number and I’ll call you when my shift is finally over.”

“That’ll work. We can figure out what happens between now and midnight then.”

Andy smiled and shoved the rest of his muffin in his mouth as another customer hustled in out of the rain.

“Be right with you,” he called out as he stood. “I don’t know how long I’ll be, but I’ll call. Swear.”

“I need to head home to make myself all sexy, so you do what you have to do.”

He flashed me a parting grin and slipped behind the counter, then schmoozed with the new arrival. It was in my mind to wait a while before leaving, but the rain suddenly eased. Within minutes, the coffee shop was full of people. I cleared the little table and made a strategic exit. I saw no point in trying to distract him from his work just to say goodbye. A certain level of maturity was called for in these situations, or so I told myself.

On the other hand, I had a hookup for today that had a lot of potential. Andy was a friendly, charming fellow. Maybe I’d end up with a fuck buddy, which would be fine with me. What lonely fellow on his own in the big, bad city couldn’t use one of those from time-to-time?

As predicted, the rain kicked the humidity up yet another notch. Everything from the streetlights to the trees to building canopies dripped, but my trusty umbrella kept my newspaper dry. The apartment was stifling when I opened the door, but then the air conditioning cycled on. I toed off my shoes and settled at the table to finish my almost cold coffee and leaf through the paper. If Andy did call, I didn’t want to spend the entire day in bed.

Unless, of course, he could get it up more times in an afternoon than I was capable of doing. That would be a game changer, not to mention it would impress the hell out of me.

The paper yielded a few possible activities. I circled them, put on a fresh pot of coffee, and took a fast shower. It was almost eleven o’clock when Andy finally called. He wanted to dash home for a shower and suggested we meet at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street at one o’clock.

There was a movie he wanted to see, his treat, then we could get an early dinner, nothing fancy, my treat. After that, we’d see how the evening shaped up. It sounded like a perfect afternoon, and I quickly agreed.

It didn’t take long for me to get nervous. I liked Andy and I didn’t want to screw up a simple date, but what if he was the clingy sort? I wasn’t looking for forever, just a good time tonight. If I got a different vibe from him, I’d have to make my intentions clear without hurting his feelings.

Nothing like getting ahead of myself. Jeez. And to keep from doing it again, I decided to wear a white T-shirt and jeans. Simple, yet sexy, with the message today was about fun.

Or maybe something else was already in the cards.

Andy greeted me with a kiss...
